![]() Shortly after the Equinox went into a failsafe/power limiting mode. I presumed an issue with the traction control and continued to drive. Shortly after the instrument cluster displayed a Stabilitrak Warning. Approximately 10 minutes into the trip home, the 2016 Chevy Equinox started to make some faint abnormal sounds. It was around 14☏ outside and starting to snow. Our car was parked outside for the weekend and we were planning to return home. Seeing as the economy is horrible right now, we really can-€™t afford to do either!! Not even check engine when it-€™s blown! We bought a newer vehicle to avoid these issues and now we are stuck dropping that much or more to replace engine block or buy a new suv all together. In the shop still and techs say no lights or warnings are coming on still when they turn the car on. Any notification that pops up, we check and fix immediately. Now we are stuck paying over $6k to replace the entire block when there was no notification that any maintenance was needed. Is driven daily and had no alerts or issues. Has been maintained and just had an oil change. Nothing about oil, no check engine, no warnings of any issues. NOT ONE ALERT SHOWED OR IS NOW SHOWING ON DASH OR DISPLAY. Had to be towed to be checked and was told engine was flooded along with other issues from driving that short distance the way it was. Turned around and went home, car was dying and would not start after. About 200 feet down the street smelled burning oil. Pulled out of driveway and got sudden smell of oil. Checked tail pipe and it was clear and blowing out exhaust. The updated 2016 Chevrolet Equinox will go on sale in the fall of 2015. Chevrolet says the four-cylinder's 32-mpg EPA highway rating should carry over to the new model.įinally, on the safety front, the Equinox will be available with blind-spot monitors, a forward-collision warning system, and a lane-departure warning system. Power is sent to the front or all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. The base engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder, while the upgrade is a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that's worth more than 300 horsepower. Under the hood, the Equinox sticks with a choice between two very good powertrains. Fold the rear seats forward, and the Equinox offers as much as 63.7 cubic feet of cargo space.ĬHECK OUT: Nissan Rogue Vs. The sliding rear seat can be adjusted for more rear-seat legroom or for more cargo space, whichever you need. The Equinox still has one of the more useful second-row seats among mid-size crossovers. The instrument panel design has been restyled, and there’s a nifty new storage shelf to keep all the knickknacks in place while on the go. Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system is standard on LT and LTZ models. Inside the changes aren't too dramatic, but a seven-inch color touchscreen is now standard, as are Bluetooth and a rearview camera. On some versions, LED running lights will be standard. Up front, the Equinox has been revamped with a reshaped grille and brighter headlights-it's a lot closer to the big Traverse now.
